I am weeping. I have never felt so seen. All these years of living with fibromyalgia and trying to explain to others what is happening, experiencing their looks of distrust and sometimes disdain, it does take a toll. I hold my hands up to Ed Yong for this gift, this acknowledgement of the challenges of living life without enough energy.
We need more works such as this piece. It’s works such as these that can potentially create change. I ask for every patient to write. Find a place to publish. It may be hard to do this but this is what will make a difference. We need to use our limited voices to propel forward movement.
